Time Management Tips For The Household
Running a house can be difficult even if you stay at home full time. You can, however, keep your home running soothingly with these ten time management tips:
Do it now. Do it now. Do it now.
Do not procrastinate when something has to get done. If you see that there is a stain on the floor, no one is likely to remove it but you. It will only get worse if you leave it, so do not procrastinate.
Clean A Certain Part of The House Each Day
Set aside one day for each chore. On Monday, for example, you can polish all of the glass or you can clean the kitchen. Set up a schedule when you have to work on cleaning or yours will never, ever be done.
Eliminate interruptions
Do not be a slave to your telephone. You can allow the phone to ring and use caller ID to screen calls. Unless it is an emergency, do not pick up the phone to talk to your neighbor or friends. Wait until you are finished your work and do not allow yourself to be sidetracked.
Listen to Music
Listening to music will help you clean faster and make the job more pleasant. Listening to upbeat music will put you in a good mood and you might find yourself singing along while scrubbing.
Turn off the TV
If you want your house to run smoothly, and more importantly, you want yourself to be not stressed out, you will schedule a time to work without watching television. TV can be very distracting and you are better off not tempting yourself to abandon your chores.
Do not shop without a list
This is a total waste of time as you are bound to forget something and have to go back. Always make a list when going shopping.
Put a Dry Erase Board on The Refrigerator
This will enable anyone to write down anything that you are out of or which they need so that you can get it when you go to the store. Go to the store once a week, also. You will spend less money than if you go every day.
Outsource
It sometimes pays to have the carpets and windows cleaned rather than spending an entire day doing this yourself. Outsource some things that can be very time consuming or difficult.
Assign jobs to family members
They will probably have to be hounded to do their jobs, but assigning jobs to family members can be beneficial. If everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot.
Do Spring and Fall Cleaning
Do these one room at a time and your house will at least be thoroughly cleaned at least twice a year. Make sure that you do all of the closets and organize everything. You will feel better once the house is cleaned this way and everything will run much more smoothly when you are organized.
